Toro

Toro was a prominent member of Eisenmann’s early public team, named in contemporary press and associated with performances and screen-related work.

Known to audiences as London

A 1964 press report said that people knew Toro as London. That was a public performance name; it does not mean that Toro was the original London, or that every later use of the name referred to the same dog.

Working group

Toro appears with Thorn, Little London and London in accounts of early television, demonstrations and travelling work. He was clearly an important part of the group, even though a complete credit list has not survived.

Claims around performance

Stories about vocabulary and unusual understanding were part of Toro’s public image and of the way Eisenmann presented his dogs.
